Transition to Fall Fashion | Sweet Savings & Thinks

Even if the temps are still hanging onto summer, fashion is already turning the page. Think richer textures, cozier layers, and those warm, earthy tones we wait for all year. Brands release their fall collections early because these items go fast. Whether you’re easing in with lightweight knits or diving headfirst into boots and denim, now’s the time to start curating your fall wardrobe before the good stuff disappears.

Boots are always the first to go. Last year, those banana leather styles were everywhere — and sold out fast. This season, I found a more affordable option that doesn’t sacrifice on quality. Style them with a plaid dress, a striped skirt, or a breezy maxi to give your outfit that fall feel without overheating.

Fall is the perfect time to bring out the animal print. I’m especially loving this zebra maxi skirt, it’s bold, versatile, and effortless to style. Maxi skirts are a go-to for me this time of year: start with a sleeveless tank while it’s still warm, then swap in long sleeves or a chunky sweater as temps drop. I’m also reaching for lots of denim — it layers beautifully and works with just about anything, no matter the season.

Barn jackets had a big moment this past spring, and I have a feeling they’ll be everywhere this fall. I found this one on sale from a brand known for great quality. Fall is also when I stock up on denim. This is my current favorite brand. The right pair of jeans should hug you in all the right places and make you feel instantly confident.

Between weddings, football games, and kids’ sports, fall tends to be a season of constant travel. That’s why it’s so important to have a few go-to essentials that keep you comfortable and functional on the go. I lived in this sweatsuit last year, and I’m so happy they brought it back in a cozy boucle print — it’s soft, breathable, and feels put-together without trying.

And let’s talk about the Dagne Dover weekender bag. It’s perfectly designed with compartments for everything, so you’re not digging for your charger or lip balm. Bonus: it doesn’t weigh down my shoulder, even when it’s packed to the brim.

I dream about that first crisp fall morning after a long, sweltering summer — bonus points if it lands on a football Saturday. There’s nothing better than throwing on your favorite crewneck, wrapping up in a blanket, and sipping coffee on the porch. UGG boots have been notoriously hard to find in stock during the holidays (they’re always a go-to gift), so I’m keeping an eye out early this year. This is the style I’m crushing on right now and I wouldn’t wait till December to grab them.
