What I’d Wear to Taylor’s Wedding | Sweet Savings & Thinks

It’s no doubt we are a big fan of our favorite english & gym teacher announcing their engagement this week. While we wait on that invite (wink wink!), we’ve put together some festive and appropriate wedding guest looks for the season.

I’ve listed out the most popular wedding attire categories and their directions below. My best advice is to always follow the directions, but have fun with it. You’ll want your outfit to be comfortable for a long day or evening, but show enough personality to still feel like yourself. And when in doubt, if you are close to the happy couple, just shoot them a text.

Black Tie
This is the most formal dress code. For women: long gowns or elegant cocktail dresses with sophisticated accessories. For men: tuxedos with black bow ties, polished shoes, and minimal flair.

Formal / Black Tie Optional
Slightly less rigid than black tie. Women can opt for long dresses or chic cocktail dresses, while men can choose a dark suit and tie if they prefer not to wear a tuxedo. Polished, elegant, and sophisticated is key.

Cocktail
Perfect for evening weddings or semi-formal events. Women: knee-length or midi dresses, statement heels, and fun accessories. Men: dark suits or dress slacks with a blazer and tie. It’s polished but allows a bit more personality and playfulness.

Garden Party / Daytime
Light, airy, and seasonal. Women: floral or pastel dresses, sundresses, or dressy skirts with flats or wedges. Men: dress slacks or chinos with a button-down shirt, optional blazer, and lighter shoes. Comfortable, chic, and perfect for outdoor settings.

Here are some fun mock ups of some outfits I’d wear if we could snag an invite the pop culture royal wedding. Most of these pieces could exchange in most of these attire categories, just use your best judgement.

Thank you so much for being here with us, and being apart of Sweet Savings and Things. I appreciate you SO much!
